A Ray of Hope for Amarilis: Battling Cancer
Dear Friends and Kindred Spirits,
As I sit down to share our story, my heart is brimming with emotions, and my fingers tremble upon the keys. I come to you as an uncle, standing in the protective shadow of a young and spirited Amarilis Albino Agosto, a 12-year-old beacon of joy, dreams, and the purest form of love. Our world, once colored with her laughter and childlike wonder, now bears the weight of an Osteosarcoma diagnosis that has spread its shadows to her lungs.
Every sunrise, as Amarilis opens her eyes, she reminds me of Psalm 23:4, "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me." Her radiant spirit, even amidst her trials, embodies the essence of hope and love.
Puerto Rico, our beloved home, has its own set of battles. The echoes of Hurricane Maria still haunt our healthcare system, casting doubts and challenges. Yet, in the midst of this storm, there shines a glimmer of hope for Amarilis – an opportunity for healing in the United States.
In this moment, my heart reaches out, extending its hands towards you. Our journey is steeped in uncertainty, each step demanding strength, faith, and resources. Proverbs 19:17 says, "Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord." With every prayer you whisper, every word of encouragement, and every act of generosity, you're weaving a tapestry of hope for Amarilis.
In times like these, stories aren't just shared; they're lived together. I invite you into ours, into Amarilis's world of courage and dreams. Let's hold her hand, lift her spirit, and be the beacon that guides her towards healing and hope.
