My name is Edwin Link, and I have faced a battle that has tested every fiber of my being. After being diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), I underwent extensive chemotherapy and eventually reached remission. However, to prevent a relapse and to treat my condition effectively, a bone marrow transplant was necessary. While the transplant was successful in combating the leukemia, it led to a severe case of Acute Graft-versus-Host Disease (AGvHD), a life-threatening complication that has made my recovery incredibly challenging.

Acute GvHD has attacked my body in numerous ways, affecting my skin, liver, and gastrointestinal system. The relentless pain, fatigue, and frequent hospitalizations have made it difficult to regain my strength. Despite these obstacles, I am determined to fight every day and make progress toward recovery.

This has not only taken a toll on my health but also created a significant financial strain on my family. The medical bills, combined with the costs of ongoing treatments and daily living expenses, have become overwhelming. My family and I are facing a mountain of financial stress, which adds to the emotional and physical burdens we are already carrying.

I have always been the first person to offer help and the last one to ask for it. Now, I find myself in a position where I need to ask for support. This is why my family and friends have stepped in to create this Give A Hand page on my behalf. They know how much I have given to others and believe it's time for me to receive some of that kindness in return.  I served in the United States Army and served my country honorably. Now, I humbly ask for your help.
