About this fundraiser

First I would like to thank everyone. My husband (AL) is going through a ruff time right now. But I have faith he will get through this. Waiting for the call. My husband needs a new heart. But since he went through chemo and radiation . Fighting throat cancer about a year ago. He doesn't Qualify. He does qualify for a heart pump. He was one of the first to get covid. Before they even had a test for it.The scarest I have ever been. After several trips to hospital He was sick for  3 months. Got blood clots in his lungs.  I was terrified I would loose him. But he fought hard and made it! Than he battled throat cancer. He jokes says : You can't hurt twisted steal. But these last few years have been hard.  My husband is a biker.  Right now with his heart being so weak. He can't ride. He isn't strong enough to hold it up. If you ride you know. Life without the wind in your face isn't living. I'm sure he will be able to ride again. Just got to get through this tough spot. The doctors have assured us . The heart pump will improve his health . We used to own a small hometown bar. Nothing fancy just a little bar .  Alot like that old tv show Cheers.  We used to put a bike run on  every year for special olympics.  The saturday before we had a picnic for the athletes. All the bikers would give rides to the athletes and anyone else who wanted a ride. The SOB got bigger every Year. We had people coming from other states to attend our run. Ours was different. All the riders stayed together the entire run. We had events at each stop. So if you came alone for the run . By the end you had made a bunch of new friends to ride with.  We also did a  chili run every nov. We just hit every bar in town that wanted to particapate. What ever bar raised the most. Picked the charity  that recieved all the money raised. We never won our own chili run . But had a great time and raised a little money for charity. I tell my husband , We are much better at fundraising for others. It's easy to help others. It's tough when your the one who needs the help. We are still blessed. There are so many people who have  such imposible hardships. Medicare and state help. cover most of all  his medical bills. The Doctors We have are amazing.  Living on his social sercurity. Takes care of living expensives. My husband normally fixes things for people which covers what social security doesn't. But with him being so weak. Even with my help he isn't really able to do much.. His doctors are a hour and a half  away. He has been hospitalized so much. Been in icu for a week twice the last few months.  I stay with him in hospital most of the time. saves on gas but than I have other expensives. I will keep my faith he will get through this.  I also have great faith in people. What we need most is  to be in your prayers.  Prayers for my husband to be strong enough to get the heart pump, strong enough to make it through surgery. strength to fight hard so we can be together and  he can ride his bike again.  Thank you  Peace
