  • Friday update 🎀

Yesterday was a long one! About 2:30 Thursday morning Wrenleigh had to have an xray because her arm and hand were swelling due to her picc line, the imaging showed the picc was placed correctly so some adjustments were made and the swelling did decrease some throughout the day- they plan to do another xray tomorrow morning just to ensure that it’s still in the same place and a place they like!!

Then around 7 she had another brain scan and we waited ALL DAY and ALL NIGHT and never did get her results because apparently this scan wasn’t put in “stat” so we should have those results tomorrow. Her team is measuring her head circumference daily and there has been no change so that tells us no significant swelling is occurring 🙌🏼

She will have another echo in a few days so hopefully that will show improvement from the Tylenol for the PDA. We did get a second chest xray today and it did show bilateral cloudiness in her lungs however it is not blood which is what we watch for from the PDA rather it is normal for her prematurity and the need for the ventilators. Her labs are all normal so there’s no immediate concern for her liver at this time but it’s be monitored closely. She has remained stable as usual she’s such a strong girl, so much that they had to swaddle her really well so she couldn’t pull her GI tube out anymore (she’s done this twice already) her feisty behavior has gotten her grounded we say!

    She’s now 1 lb 11oz (5oz in weight gain since birth) 10 days old or 27 & 3 (27 weeks and 3 days)

We ask for your continued prayers as the most precious girl continues to fight for her growth and health 💗

About this fundraiser

Hello, my name is Morganne Vanderpool.  Alexia’s mom Brittany and I have been best friends since we were 9 and I have known Alexia her whole life and watch her grow into the beautiful woman she is today.

Alexia and Victor along with their families Could really use your support in this time of need.  I can only imagine how hard all of this must be for Alexia and Victor as well as those who love them most. Please help if you can it would make such a huge impact as they walk this journey of a long hospital stay to keep sweet baby Hawkins and her precious momma safe inside the weeks and months to come!

This is not how they wanted to announce their pregnancy, or reveal the gender of their baby but sometimes Gods plans are beyond our understanding.

Alexia was recently admitted to labor & delivery during a routine OB visit following nearly two weeks of swelling, headaches, and vision problems. She found out she has stage 3 extreme preeclampsia and will be on bedrest in the hospital under 24 hr monitoring until her body decides it’s time to deliver her daughter. Alexia is only 25 weeks and Knowing her baby could be born any day now is very scary.
knowing her baby will be going directly to the NICU is extremely scary.
Knowing that at any time Alexia herself could start having seizures or even suffer a stroke is also scary. She is very limited on the medications she can have and her care team has educated her on all the potential risks, and outcomes. Their situation has left both Alexia and Victor as well as their immediate families in a tough spot with a long road ahead.

Aside from meals and care packages I wanted to give our community an opportunity support them during this difficult time as Alexia’s mom Brittany is the first person to be there for anyone when they are in need. Anyone who knows this family knows they will show up and do the very most, this is simply an opportunity for us to do the same for them! Alexia will need both Victor and her mom during this time and none of them need the stress that comes with not being able to be in two places at once causing them to miss work.

I want to thank you all in advance for the thoughts and prayers they are greatly appreciated. This sweet baby is already so loved!!

If you would like to deliver anything or help with meals you can contact Brittany on Facebook Messenger or text her directly if you already have her contact number.
