We began our journey for growing our family pre-pandemic, and after months of research and screening calls, we were devastated to realize that our Dream family was out of our grasp. Even with our well paying careers, we weren’t able to financially support growing our family with the costs associated with IVF and surrogacy. 

Tony and I have always dreamed of raising a child that was genetically related to us both. This dream was made into a plan of action when Nicole, Tony’s sister, offered to be our egg donor for me to fertilize. After our third or fourth screening call, and we were both shattered. Tony can say that it took me a LONG time to climb out of that depression. 
 

We knew it might happen for us down the road, and that hope has led us to today. The world has made leaps in medical rights for gay couples and family planning in the past few years, however the costs have also taken a leap. We moved back to Michigan to be closer to family during this process, and I started a new career that puts us in a much better financial position to start our family. We’ve found the clinic and surrogacy agency, and were Caught off guard at the hike in fees. 
 

We hate that we feel we have to beg for money, but we refuse to bring our dream baby into a household that would be completely broke after paying all of the fees. We also know that waiting will more than likely just make it more and more financially impossible as the prices rise. We know it’s unlikely to fundraise anywhere near the full cost, but we were praying generous souls might empathize with our want to grow our family, and any little bit helps us along that path!
