Bone Marrow Transplant for my Brother

Hello, my name is Tatiana and I am raising money for my brother's bone marrow transplant surgery.

I live here in Florida, but my brother lives overseas in the Republic of Moldova, where both of us were born. He suffers from an acute case of Leukemia, stage 4, and at this point, the only solution is to have a transplant.

He is a tall, handsome reliable man, who has been taking care of my elderly mother on his own in a third-world country, which is considered to be the poorest in Europe.

Unfortunately, in Moldova, there is no access to bone marrow transplant surgery. Generally, medical service and technology there are very outdated and medical personnel is not knowledgeable about cancer treatments.

The 2 nearest places where surgery is possible are Russia and Turkey. In this political climate, Russia does not accept patients from ideologically hostile countries and therefore the only solution for us is Turkey.

Turkey, however, is very expensive. The prices are staggering for my brother whose only source of income is his sales job in a very poor country. Especially now that he is struggling to survive experiencing vertigo, general weakness, super low energy, pain, nausea and other pretty unpleasant and impactful symptoms. He has to constantly take time off from his job for treatments, chemo and blood transfusions. And he is the sole breadwinner, with an elderly dependent, my mother.

I help them as much as I can, but I can only do so much. I am also a single mother trying to make ends meet.

So, I am looking for help from companionate donors like you. The price for surgery is very high, but I will be so grateful for even the

smallest donations! We are very hopeful and we trust that something will turn in our favor.

Here is my brother's story in his own words:

Hello, my name is Evgeny Madan. I was born in Moldova and currently reside here in the capital city of Chișinău. From an early age I have been interested in music and have been playing drums since I was 5 (I will interject here and say, he's been playing drums since he was 2, I was an unfortunate whiteness to that lol). It is a major interest and a serious hobby of mine. I've played at various concerts and venues.

Also, since childhood, I have been dreaming of opening a shelter for homeless cats and dogs. The problem with homeless and stray animals on our streets is simply a disaster and I have been volunteering in rescuing, fostering and rehabilitating animals in need. Right now I am fostering 3 cats and a dog.

I also have a regular job in addition to these 2 passions of mine.

Unfortunately, at this moment, due to Leukemia, I have no way of engaging in my favorite endeavors.

I was diagnosed with acute Leukemia stage 4 in 2020. Due to the incredible efforts of doctors, the illness went into remission, but not for long. In 2021 they found a tumor near my ear, and in 2022 the illness returned in a more aggressive form.

I have consulted with various doctors and the only solution at this point is a bone marrow transplant. According to them, I was supposed to pass away in the Fall of last year, but I am still here, holding up, probably because I always kept a very healthy lifestyle.

With the absence of modern technology in Moldova, this procedure is impossible, and to have it done in another country is very expensive. For me, an invalid and for my family the sum is simply astronomical. So I am asking you for help. I will be endlessly grateful for any donations and kind words you can send me and my family.
