My son was hit by an Amtrak train on January 27, 2026 in Gastonia, North Carolina. Since the accident he has been in two different hospitals intensive care units – first Gastonia, then in Charlotte. Right now he’s in a coma on a ventilator and receiving nitro oxide, fighting for his life every single day. He has head trauma , collapsed lungs, a broken rib, a fractured hip and he’s bruised.  His story was featured on the local news and online, but unfortunately, some of the media information has not been accurate. the article says he was fine, but that is far from the truth .  He has been hospitalized since the accident happened and our family has been by his open and praying for his recovery. 
 

The road ahead of my son is incredibly long and uncertain.  He will need extensive medical care, therapy, and support to rebuild his life after this dramatic event. The financial burden of his hospital, stay, surgerys, treatments, and ongoing care is overwhelming. We are reaching out to our community and beyond for help during this difficult time.
