Brayden was diagnosed with a rare lung disease called ABCA3 Surfactant Deficiency after he was born with breathing problems. He has lived his whole life on a ventilator, oxygen and a feeding tube(he is 11 now). Brayden started a drastic decline medically almost two years ago, that is when we started our journey for him to receive a double lung transplant. Brayden has currently been listed for lungs for a little over a year and we could get a call at anytime to go to the hospital for surgery. We are two hours away from our transplant center so Brayden and his mom will be staying there for the duration of recovery and up to two months after in the RMH near the hospital because Brayden will have frequent appointments the first few months after transplant. Which will put a strain in home life where Braydens dad will be working and taking care of Brayden’s four sisters. We are raising money to help with expenses while Brayden and mom are away at the hospital for months after transplant.
