My name is Ethel and I am writing on behalf of my brother Grover. Two years ago he was diagnosed with kidney disease, and has been in treatment ever since. Over the last year his kidney disease has progressed, and is now in constant physicians care, and has been informed that he needs a kidney transplant to stay alive. When I heard the news I immediately began researching, and found the National Kidney Registry. Right as our hopes went up, we found out that there's a very long line ahead of him. Another downside for this to happen is that my bother will incur significant out-of-pocket expenses, not only for the hospital stay and surgery, but for the follow up medications and lifelong care required for such a procedure. If you know my bother, you know he is loving, generous, and rarely asks anyone for anything more than a hello or a smile.
