Hi, my name is Hanne and I am creating this fundraiser for Alex’s mom, Elizabeth Hamilton. Family and friends new Brent as Alex as that is his middle name he went by growing up. 
 

On January 22nd around the time of 7:30ish pm, Elizabeth received a call that the police were heading to a location where she was told Alex had attempted to take his life. Alex was rushed to the nearby hospital in Salem OR where his mom received another call about an hour later saying Alex suffered life threatening injuries and they did not think he was going to survive the night. His mom, Elizabeth, made arrangements and got to Salem to go over end of life options as she was told he will not recover from his injuries due to brain death. 
 

On the road to the hospital, Elizabeth mentioned that she would like to look into her son being a donor as she knew at the age of 33, he was healthy enough that he could help other patients in need of organs and even save a life and have a part of her son still alive. 

After arriving at the hospital and being able to get Alex’s I’d, we discovered he selected to be a donor as well which confirmed his mom’s wishes too. Praise God! Doctors then showed us Alex‘s ct scan that shows the impact his brain had sustained and they conducted tests to determine for sure if he had no brain activity to proceed with the option of being an organ donor and legally declared he was dead by brain death. . Every test they did confirmed that Alex was for sure brain dead and pronounced brain dead as reasoning for death on January 24th, 2025 at 1:32 am. After that, the donor team from Portland helped with getting him sent to the right hospital to begin their testing for organ donation where they said we would get an update within 10 days after his surgery to remove his organs.

Elizabeth is now trying to figure out how to lay her son to rest and has decided on cremation. The cremation cost and financial needs are estimated to be what we are asking. She’s asking for financial help as she doesn’t have the income to cover those costs and as she is missing work to be with her son and to cover all of the cost for arrangements. I know she would appreciate the help, so I am praying that between friends and family we can take the financial stress off of her.

Here is the breakdown of what’s needed from the funeral home:

$520-cremation 

$30- death certificate fee

$25- filing fee 

$125- mailing of ashes fee

We decided to not spend the estimated $540 for the ashes containers for people and to do them our self, so that fee is taken off  

His mom Liz, decided that she will continue to trust in the Lord when it comes to lost wages and is not wanting to ask for any money for her. she just wants to see that her son is taken care of and that she can get his ashes.
