Years ago my wife used money from a loan to pay for breast cancer treatment. She was in her twenties when diagnosed. Since then she was diagnosed a second time and even though she is cancer free, there are yearly bills for side affect treatment and preventative scans. Plus the original loan has now soared to over 30k with interest. 

We have decent jobs but still tough to pay off the loan and the constant ongoing reminders of cancer with the yearly  appointments and payments is just so stressful for her.  I'm not asking for all the money on the loan just something to ease her stress.   I am doing this for her.
