When going out to work early in the morning, an injured cat was discovered alone and scared in our front yard. I decided I needed to approach as if this was my fur baby friend. The cat seemed open to my help I proceeded to pick up the cat. It reacted with pain or fear and proceeded to bite my hand! Having limited insurance I applied self first aid at home for a few days. However, it became swollen to the point I was not able to move my fingers or use my hand. I finally had no choice but to seek medical assistance. This resulted in me being admitted to hospital for 4 days. I lost a week of work. It became severely infected requiring an MRI of my hand and surgery. 

Our children  just recently had some significant medical/dental bills. Between the loss of work and inadequate insurance we find ourselves needing to ask for assistance in covering these unexpected medical expenses.
