My name is Gerald Long and I was born in 1957 with VACTERL/ARM (Anorectal Malformation) and I require special equipment to empty my bowels which Medicare doesn’t cover b/c it isn’t DME. This program costs $7200 and provides a safe, effective and universally approved device that is tailored for someone with my birth anomalies. I’m 67 and I need this equipment to stay out of the ER. The equipment I’m asking for has been prescribed for me by both my GI Doctor and a Rectal Surgeon. Both doctors work for the University of Utah Medical Center.
