My nephew, Theodore, and the family were celebrating his birthday on Sunday, May 12th, also Mother's Day this year. A complete freak accident happened: He tripped while running next to a bonfire pit and actually fell into some hot coals and it burned the one side of his arm, but thankfully nothing more severe. He was rushed via ambulance to UCI Medical center where he will be getting extensive medical treatment for skin grafting and a couple surgeries due to the nature of his burns and for how small his body is. 

Please pray with for the family and considering helping my sister and brother in-law during this time as they are with two children and taking time off work to be able care for their son. Thanks and appreciation are swelling from our hearts. 

*Update 5/14 

Theodore had his first skin graft surgery Monday 5/13. All went very well and he is in recovery and in good spirits. He played with the toys the thoughtful staff provided. There was a portion near his tendons/elbow area that will need additional surgery due to the nature of the burns. That surgery will take place on Wednesday 5/15. Thank you for your continued prayers and support 

*Update 5/16

Theodore had his second surgery on 5/15 and it went great! They removed the wound vac off his arm and the nerve block that was in his chest. He DID NOT need a second skin graft, PRAISE GOD! Thank you for all your prayers 🙏  we're almost there!  Theo is staying another night.. he had gotten a fever post op and his oxygen has been low. They are testing him for a respiratory Infection and are monitoring his O2 levels. They just need to make sure he’s 100% before discharging him. If everything is good he can go home tomorrow. He will have to do some therapy shortly afterwards but all in all Theo is healthy.
