The moment one receives a positive diagnosis for cancer from a biopsy...their world, and those they love, changes dramatically.

This moment happened 2 weeks ago to a very dear friend of mine and her pain became my pain.

Her mother, who is elderly and uninsured, must undergo approximately 30 radiation treatments 2 to 3 times weekly to hopefully, kill the cancer.  This financial burden is overwhelming for her and the family.  She is the one her family leans on for complicated issues and problems; however, this diagnosis has left her feeling lonely, helpless, and numb.

Next week, the doctor will present them with some referrals for treatment centers from which to choose.

I reassured her that I would help her in any way that I can; but, I cannot take on this financial burden by myself.

This is a good family with endless love for each other.

She doesn't know that I am starting this Give a Hand campaign and she probably wouldn't approve; but, I must do everything I can to help this deserving family.

Over the years, since 2008, I have personally given my time and money to many, many independent artists to fund their albums, as well as friends in need.  Now, I am reaching out to those I helped, and to those who do not know who I am, to help a family in need.
