After spending the last two years, some 38 doctors appointments, trying to get relief from endometriosis, severe menorrhagia and subsequent severe anemia and chronic migraines, I finally got a hysterectomy January 23rd, 2025. They removed my uterus, fallopian tubes, cervix, and painful scar tissue and polyps from endometriosis. However, despite going through all the necessary steps to prove my condition, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield denied many of my claims.
I have around $20k in medical debts – including $10k that ABCS left me with for my hysterectomy. Thankfully the hysterectomy means I no longer need iron infusions (which insurance also refused to fully cover despite my dangerously low hemoglobin/ferritin) Not only did I lose time & money over the last two years not being able to work much, I was also out of work from the hysterectomy and 6-week healing.
Any amount you can contribute would help immensely. All of it will go directly to medical debts and collection agencies hounding me. Thank you to every single one of you who've been supportive, called and checked in, took me to a doctor's appointment… You have no idea how much you mean to me. <3
