About this fundraiser

I’m asking from a place that is very personal to me, and honestly, something I know they would never ask for themselves.

Right now, Dennis is in the ICU at St. John’s, waiting for brain surgery on Tuesday, April 7th, 2026 to remove a brain tumor. Brandy hasn’t left his side. They are walking through something no family ever prepares for, and they’re doing it with the same quiet strength and faith they’ve always lived by.

If you know them, you already know who they are.

They are the people who show up.
They are the people who give.
They are the people who feed others, even when they don’t have much themselves.

For years, through Flo’s Burger Diner and Flo’s Smokehouse, they poured into this community. Brandy kept an icebox full of free meals for anyone who needed one. No questions asked. And people came, some without saying a word, but they were never turned away.

During COVID, they served hundreds of Sunday Soul Plates to the community, again without asking for anything in return.

That’s just who they are.

This past year alone, they have walked through loss after loss, from losing their mom to closing their restaurants and financial hardship, and still, they have not lost their faith in God or their heart to give to others.

But right now, they need support from the community that they gave so much to support over the years.

Dennis is the primary provider for their family, working for United States Postal Service. With him in the hospital and Brandy by his side, life at home doesn’t stop. Bills are stacking up. Their four kids at home, ages 3 to 18, are trying to keep up with school, work, and everything else, without their parents there to carry it like they always have.

They are not asking for help with medical bills. Those are covered.

What they do need is support for real, everyday life right now.

They need help covering household bills.
They need gift cards and meals to provide food for the family while Brandy and Dennis stay at the hospital.
They need breathing room while they walk through this.

If you’ve ever been fed by them, prayed with them, supported by them, or even just witnessed the way they love people, this is a moment where we get to love them back.

I’m asking you, as their friend, to step in where they would never ask.

Whatever you can give matters. Truly.

And if you can’t give financially, please pray and share. Pray for Dennis’s surgery. Pray for healing. Pray for peace over their family. Pray for strength for Brandy.

This is one of the most giving families I know. Now it’s our turn to give to them.
