Help the Maiden Family Rebuild After Devastating House Fire
On the evening of Wednesday, March 26, 2025, tragedy struck the home of beloved community elder Mr. William Maiden and his wife Jennifer, longtime residents of Fayetteville, NC. While on their way to Wednesday night Bible Study at their church, Cape Fear Baptist Church, they received a devastating phone call from a neighbor—their home was on fire.
Racing back, their only thought was for their family’s safety. In the frantic attempt to get back home to ensure their adult daughter and grandchild made it out safely, Jennifer tragically fell. She would later learn that she had broken her shoulder. The heartbreak didn’t end there.
Although most of the family was able to escape, the flames took everything: their home, their possessions, their medications, and a lifetime of cherished photographs and memories. Most painfully, they lost their beloved pet Chihuahua, Ashley—a sweet and fiercely loyal member of their family, who could not be found in time.
Neighbors and relatives gathered in shock and sorrow as they watched the fire consume everything Mr. Maiden had built over a lifetime—a life devoted to faith, family, and service.
Mr. William Maiden has spent over 53 years working at MANN+HUMMEL Purolator in Fayetteville and was preparing to retire within just a few months. He is also a former public servant to the Lumbee Tribe, and both he and Jennifer are pillars in their church and wider community—always giving, always serving.
Now, they need our help.
We are raising funds to help the Maiden family rebuild their lives from the ground up—to cover the cost of emergency housing, basic needs, medical care, and, eventually, the long process of reconstructing a home filled with love and peace.
If you feel moved to support a family who has given so much to others, please consider donating. No amount is too small. And if you're unable to give financially, please help by sharing this campaign with others.
Let’s rally together and show the Maidens that their community stands with them in this time of unimaginable loss.
Thank you for your kindness, your prayers, and your support.
🙏❤️
