About this fundraiser

I recently had a spot in my mouth surgically removed and biopsied. Thankfully it was not cancer, but doctors determined it was caused by long-term irritation from wearing an old denture that is too large.

Dentures are typically meant to be replaced every 5–7 years. Unfortunately, I have been wearing mine for 19 years because I have never had dental insurance and could not afford a replacement. After the surgery, scar tissue formed, and my denture no longer fits at all. It is also cracked and has already been repaired multiple times.

I finally have dental insurance, but I recently learned that it will not cover a new denture due to a “missing tooth clause.” Ironically, the very reason people need dentures is because they are missing teeth.

My dentist has advised that I need to replace the denture as soon as possible. Without a properly fitting denture, my gums could begin to recede and cause additional health problems.

I am asking for help so I can get a properly fitting denture and avoid further complications. Any support, whether through a donation or simply sharing this fundraiser, would mean so much to me.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any help you can give.
