My name is Emily Chavis and I am a 33 year old from Atlanta, GA. I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 28 months old, and have been living a normal and flourishing life with this disease for most of my life. I am a paramedic and have been working in the field for over 10 years, and am actively pursuing an RN degree. I work 2 jobs in the medical field, passionately caring for patients in the Emergency Department, and on the ambulance. I do so with undeniable passion and I love what I do and want to be able to continue serving without interference from illness.
