My name is Emily and I suffer with severe depression, anxiety, and CPTSD from many years of abuse. I’m unable to work and currently trying to get disability benefits. With no income or support from family or friends, I am 5 months behind on rent. This past Friday (3/20/2026), the judge ordered for my eviction and I have nowhere to go. This is the safest, most peaceful place I’ve ever been in a life of constantly trying to escape abuse so it’s home to me. I don't know what I will do if I lose my home. I’m mentally exhausted and I can’t handle another let down. Currently I owe $6599.06 for rent and fees, and if it’s not paid before they put a notice on my door I’m in the street. What makes it more devastating to me is that I’m finally about to get my disability and the eviction is in place at the same time. I’ve begged the apartment manager to give me a little more time but she says she has no control. It could take up to 90 days to actually get my disability benefits but the eviction could only take a couple weeks. I am literally running out of time. I hope that you can find it in your heart to help me keep my “safe haven”. I’ve come too far and if I lose my home I think it would be the last straw for me.
