  • Rehabilitation

Dominick was transferred to an inpatient rehab program on October 22nd where he is undergoing 3 hours of physical therapy per day for his hip and amputation site. This is necessary to promote proper healing for future acquisition of a prostethic limb. His right arm is still all pins and screws and not usable. Not sure when he will be able to start receiving therapy on his arm. That is another hurdle to be dealt with. Once released from the rehab facility Dom will follow with the surgical orthopedic team at Shands Hospital and will need to receive ongoing outpatient Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy for the mobility in his leg, hip and right hand and arm. We acquired a wheelchair for him to use along with a transfer bath seat and some threshhold ramps for him to navigate the wheelchair in areas such as doorways and exits. Taking it day by day for progression. The amputation site is very painful and will take months to heal so he will need assistance with daily living for quite some time. We are trying to help and support him however we can and appreciate all of the support being received by everyone reaching out to him and our family. Thank you for all of the generous monetary donations! It makes this somewhat easier in the near future for all of us. Much Love!!

About this fundraiser

On September 27, 2026, our brother, Dominick, aka Moochie, was involved in a serious motorcycle accident and sustained life changing injuries.

He was rushed to Shands hospital via helicopter where he underwent multiple emergency surgeries.  To date, he has had hip, arm, and leg surgery, and unfortunately had to have his right leg amputated below the knee.

While we are deeply grateful that Dom is alive, the road to recovery is going to be long, painful, and intensive. He faces months of physical therapy, follow-up procedures, and specialized medical equipment and a prosthetic leg.

Where the Funds Go:

Medical bills are piling up quickly. Donations to this fund will go directly toward:

    •    Immediate hospital and surgical care costs

    •    Ongoing physical therapy and rehabilitation

    •    Necessary home medical equipment and medications

    •    Basic living expenses while Dominick is unable to work

How You Can Help:

If you are able to contribute, any amount—no matter how small—makes a massive difference for Dominick. If you cannot donate, please share this page and keep Dominick in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you for your kindness, support, and generosity during this difficult time.

Love,

Jerri, Jimmy, Terri, & Wendy all of our family
