Latest update as of Mar 03, 2026

  • We are settled back into a regular room. Surgery today was her skin graft, and the Dr said it went well, they have her back on a wound vac for 5 days. They gave us the option to go home with a disposable vac, but if something goes wrong, they can’t troubleshoot over the phone, and living an hr away didn’t make much sense, so we, along with the DR decided it was best to stay put until this one comes off. They will start working on dangling protocol, starting at 5 minutes 3-4 times a day, and work our way up 5 minutes at a time. If everything goes as planned, we should be released next Tuesday to go home. Emilee still won’t be walking when we leave here, once they know her foot can tolerate the dangling, they will then start working on adding pressure, so it’ll be a while till she can actually walk again. He said she’ll likely walk with limp, I’d imagine that will get better with time. He doesn’t see any reason she won’t be able to walk when graduation rolls around. Please continue to keep Emilee’s healing journey in your prayers.

About this fundraiser

Hello!  As most of you know, Emilee Anderson was involved in an ATV accident on Sunday, February 15, 2026.  Emilee is the daughter of Rachel & Brandon Anderson of Burnet, TX.  Emilee is a Senior at Burnet High School.  Emilee was airlifted to the hospital and has sustained a lot of trauma.  She has a fractured shoulder, possibly fractured collar bone, very severe road rash from the top of her right shoulder all the way down to her right foot, she has has a couple of very bad wounds on her knee and right foot that had to be surgically cleaned out and stitched up.   The road to recovery could be 4-6 months due to the severity of her foot.  I am asking for donations to help her parents with daily stress that this accident has caused along with the numerous future doctor visits, medical bills, medicine, meals, fuel to and from and etc. for Emilee's recovery.  I hope that our wonderful Community can come together and help this family, if you are able.  If you are not able to donate financially, please keep them in your prayers.  Thankfully, Emilee is young & healthy and will recover quickly and more importantly she is still here with us.  Thank you for your time and donations and may God bless you all!  🩷
