I fell down a flight of stairs in August 2023. I was put in an air boot August 9 for severe tears around my left ankle. I also hurt my hip in the fall but the ankle was most important. I was in a boot until surgery on October 27 which caused me to have complications and my wound split open. I was finally healed and out of an air cast last week of January 2024. My doctor waited until it was stable to do the hip surgery. I had a torn labrum, the bursa needed removing and I had severely torn my abductor muscle. Surgery was July 5. I’m still on a walker. Since August of last year- I’ve either been in an air cast or walker. I’ve had no way to make income. My husband works full time, 2 nights a week at a restaurant and helps take care of me. We’ve asked for assistance but there’s none for seniors (I’m 50-he’s 59). We have fallen behind on medical bills and we just got a rent eviction notice!! We are only a month behind. As someone who is crippled now and has a service dog because I have a rare brain disorder called FND and have seizures- we can’t we homeless. We have no children and at our age, no family left to help. I’m asking for any amount you can help with to keep us with a roof over our head. Thank you very much.
