Anpetu Waste! (Good day in Lakota)

My name is Amanda Charger, and I’m from Lower Brulé, SD, on the Kul Wicasa Oyate Reservation. I’m a proud Lakota woman, a single mother of four, and a graduate student pursuing a degree in Human Services so I can give back and help my community heal and thrive.

I live a sober lifestyle and serve as the sole caregiver and provider for my children. Lately, it’s been especially challenging, our family vehicle broke down, and with the school year quickly approaching, I’m doing my best to prepare for school supplies, clothes, and my oldest son’s senior year.

It’s not easy for me to ask for help, but I’m reaching out with humility and hope. Any support you can offer, whether financial or simply sharing this message, would mean so much to us.
