I never imagined I would be writing something like this, but life has taken an unexpected and heartbreaking turn.

On October 10, 2025 my husband, Frantz Delance—my partner of 15 years—suffered a devastating stroke. He underwent emergency brain surgery to relieve swelling, and in the days that followed, he endured two heart attacks. After spending three months in the hospital, he has now been discharged and requires long-term nursing care at home.

Before this tragedy, Frantz was a hardworking, devoted family man who lived an active and healthy lifestyle. More than anything, he is a caring and giving person—always the one to show up for others in their time of need, never hesitating to lend a helping hand. Today, everything has changed. Frantz is bedridden and unable to move, speak, or do anything on his own. He now requires 24-hour care, a reality that is incredibly difficult for our family to accept.

After building a life together for 15 years, seeing him in this condition is truly heartbreaking. Despite the challenges ahead, I remain fully committed to standing by his side and supporting him through this long and difficult recovery journey.

This sudden medical crisis has placed an overwhelming financial burden on our family. I have exhausted our savings while trying to navigate a very difficult healthcare system. Our insurance provider has made it challenging to secure the level of long-term care that Frantz urgently needs, and while I have applied for Medicaid, the process is lengthy and uncertain.

I returned to work in November, as my income is now our only source of support. At the same time, I am paying out of pocket for a full-time caregiver so Frantz can receive proper care while I am at work, along with ongoing medical supplies needed for his daily care. My income is also covering our mortgage and basic living expenses, which has created significant financial strain.
