  • Great news!

Jess was able to get lodging through Ronald McDonald house so that cut the cost of the stay down almost in half. Our new hope is that we can raise enough money for a rental van, as their current vehicle is in need of some work and can't make the trip and some food costs while they're there. Thank you so much for your time!

In 7 short years, Gabe has gone through a lot. He's been diagnosed with NF1 or neurofibromatosis type 1. This has caused severe scoliosis and his spine is over 60 percent curved, on both the top and the bottom. Gabe is scheduled for corrective surgery, a spinal fusion, at Boston Children's Hospital in March 2024. The procedure will consist of placing 2 rods in his spine, one at the top one at the bottom. He will also have to have it adjusted every 6 months. Unfortunately, while Gabe has to be an inpatient for a week or just over, the hospital doesn't allow anyone to stay with him and they live just under 2 hours away from the hospital. I'm hoping to help Gabe's mom and dad, Jessica and Steve, fund a hotel room, gas/parking and food costs so they're able to stay with him during what will most likely be the scariest thing he's encountered, surgery and an inpatient stay in the hospital. Gabe is a trooper. He's endured so many smaller procedures and a back brace, trying to correct the curve. The brace wasn't effective and left bruises and cuts on him. Recently, he's started dealing with pain and fatigue from being so misaligned. Thank you for taking the time to read this and possibly donating and sharing.
