About this fundraiser

Our beautiful daughter Samantha, 37, has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroendocrine Cancer (Neuroendocrine tumors are rare and can occur anywhere in the body. Most neuroendocrine tumors occur in the lungs, appendix, small intestine, rectum and pancreas, Mayo Clinic). She is a loving wife and mother to two teenage boys, faithful daughter and granddaughter, fun-loving cousin, and committed friend.

Samantha is a strong, beautiful soul who has endured loss and hardship over the years but still had so much love she wanted to share with others that she and her husband decided to become foster parents…a completely life-changing experience! They ultimately fostered and fell in love with two of these kids, which led to the decision to adopt them both in the fall of 2022.

What seemed like a parental roller-coaster with all the glorious high moments and despairing low ones soon was overshadowed by an even bigger challenge. After adopting her two sweet boys, only a short time later she began experiencing severe pain in her abdomen which would not relent. No stranger to pain, because of the multiple back problems she already has had to overcome, this seemed definitely different. So, after many tests, including a CT scan of her liver and then a biopsy, Doctors diagnosed her with this potentially life-shattering event.

Cancer has been an enemy of so many of Samantha’s family and friends that she definitely knew to take it seriously but now with a family to be there for she was determined to fight. Anyone who truly knows Sam, knows that she is a fighter. She’s going to give it her all, take the blows on the chin, and then rise up to do it again. Underneath all that façade, beneath that tough exterior, though, is a heart that loves fiercely, protectively, and faithfully, without question.

Since Sam’s diagnosis she has gone through several cancer treatments without avail. The current treatment involves taking Peptide Receptor Radionuclide Therapy (PRRT.) At present, Samantha is hoping to get into UK Lexington Cancer Center, but unfortunately, the insurance does not cover the cost of treatments, lodging, or food. This is a six-week treatment process with promising positive outcomes.

Please consider helping in any way that is possible! We would be so grateful for anyone willing to stand beside Samantha in this battle with their monetary support. Little bits can add up and make such a huge difference towards making this treatment a reality, which in turn could make a huge difference in the life of this family. If you are not in a position to donate, please consider taking a moment to lift Samantha up in your prayers.

On behalf of our family, we thank you for any support as it will help Samantha obtain the treatment she so deserves.
