My name is Dr. George Doummar, a Syrian-American deeply concerned about the plight of animals in Syria. The ongoing 12-year war has devastated not just the people but also the animals of this once-beautiful country. The economic collapse and dire conditions have left countless animals—cats, dogs, and more—suffering on the streets without food, shelter, or care.

Even more heartbreaking, there’s a disturbing trend emerging where children, impacted by the brutal realities of war, are torturing animals. The cruelty and violence being inflicted on these innocent creatures are horrifying, and it's a reflection of the deep scars the conflict has left on all aspects of Syrian life.

The Syrian Association for Rescuing Animals (S.A.R.A.) is the only organization in Syria tirelessly working to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome these animals, but they need your help.
