Hi, my name is Wendy!

I'm on a mission to make the lives of veterans and first responders better through service and support.

The car? Her name is Melanie. She's a 1967 Fastback Mustang. My baby, my bucket list project, my tool to help others. She has been sitting for 17+ years waiting for her time and in the last year, I've finally been able to get her started. She is coming to life, slowly but surely. I need help bringing her to the finish line!

As for what she will do when she's completed: Car shows - where she will sit next to a sign advertising Tunnels 2 Towers. She will have a donation bin where attendees can make a donation. I will also try to organize car shows where all entry fees will be donated to local veterans support networks. Small business support - she will be an eye catcher, so I'm going to volunteer to have her parked in front of veteran and first responder owned businesses with signs to help attract attention and hopefully bring in customers. Motorcycle group escort - there are groups of former vets that ride motorcycles together around 275 in Cincinnati and 465 in Indianapolis. She will be an escort car to attract attention to the group so they are more visible and safe! Funeral escort / bereaved transportation - I will volunteer to drive veteran or first responder widows/widowers from the church or other funeral venue to the final resting place. There are people who would appreciate this as a final gesture to celebrate their loved one. VA hospital and retirement home visits - between orchestrating "cruises" and visits to VA centers and residential facilities, it will allow her to bring smiles to many and let them know they're not forgotten! Make-a-Wish - should their be any requests for a ride in a car like her, I will be blessed to fulfill those wishes.

There are other possibilities out there and I'll be open to suggestions as time goes on.

I'm hoping that this campaign will be successful so I can begin doing great things for great people! How this money will be used: 100% of the money raised will go towards finishing this car so she can get her new role started. People who donate will receive project updates and finished project photos and videos. Once she begins her new journey, there will be regular updates on things she's doing on a Facebook page I have created for her and the journey she is on.
