Hi, my name is Carlee Reeves, and I’m from Kinder, Louisiana. I never imagined I’d be in a position to ask for help like this, but life changed in a matter of minutes.

On the evening of May 28th, a fire broke out in my home due to an electrical issue. Within minutes, everything I owned was either damaged or destroyed. Thankfully, I made it out safely, but I lost nearly all my belongings—furniture, clothes, appliances, even sentimental keepsakes I can never replace.

The hardest part has been facing the days after, trying to figure out how to start over from scratch. I’ve been staying with a kind neighbor, but I’m working every day to find a way to rebuild my life—emotionally, physically, and financially.

I’m raising $7,800 to help cover:

Temporary housing and deposits: $3,000

Basic furniture and essentials: $2,000

Clothing, work uniforms, and shoes: $1,200

Appliances and cookware: $900

Emergency expenses and transportation: $700

Every dollar brings me one step closer to a fresh start. I’ve always been someone who worked hard and helped others when I could—but right now, I need a little help to get back on my feet.
