My name is Laura (Barbour) Johnson . I was born and raised here in this community. I have a wonderful husband Christopher Johnson and together we have five great kids. Blake is our oldest he is 16 . Myla Ree is our oldest girl-she is 13. We have Aubree who is 8 and Autumn who is 9 . Then we have our caboose Maggie she is 18 months old! For the past 20 years I have been a hair dresser and owned my own salon. Recently my health caused issues and we decided to close the salon . Then  boom the diagnosis I never thought i would hear Cancer. Making our family go to a single income household for the next I don’t know how long . In this economy that is a hard thing. I’m not one that asks for help for myself . I love helping others and have done so on many many occasions. This is a very hard to do…I have had several reach out and want to help. It has taken a lot of prayer but I know with all the upcoming expenses we will need assistance. Today June 12 I had my 1st surgery to put my port into my heart for my treatments. Tomorrow June 13 I will have my 1st of 24 weeks of treatments of chemotherapy. Then I go for another MRI guided biopsy for another spot Next Monday. After the treatments are done I will have a bilateral mastectomy , then more immunotherapy. My official diagnosis is Aggressive Invasive Triple Negative Breast Cancer that has spread to my lymph node on the right side. My husband job will allow him to be off but he is a contract worker so he doesn’t get paid when he is off . This has been a very emotional thing to go through and my mom and my husband have been my biggest support( I have a whole village that is there I don’t want it to sound like I don’t appreciate everyone) .The bills and the cost of living still come they don’t care about a diagnosis. My will my faith and my body have been challenged lately. But make no mistake my heart is strong and my resolve to fight will never be broken for Grace has carried me this far and  by Grace I’ll get through!!!
