Janis Comstock has been a very good friend of mine for over 20 years and has been helping save and better the lives of animals since long before that. She lives on very modest income due to disability, and is the most resourceful person I know. She is also very generous and would give her last dollar to someone who needed it more, would go hungry before the cats she loves and takes care of ever would. Without hesitation,she used up her care credit funds to help a neighbors cat who had been poisoned. That neighbor, despite best intentions is unable to pay her back. Her own precious senior Sammy has been having increasing seizures and desperately needs to go to the vet. However she is carrying a balance of just under $1700. Her cats are her heart, her life, and sweet Sammy needs help ASAP. I don't believe good deeds should be punished because she helped an animal suffering and their human who had been sincere when reaching out for help.
