My mom Marcy started off the New Year with a fall into the road while trying to get our mail. She had been having trouble walking due to her left leg dragging from her lower leg bowing out and we have a big step up from the mailbox and she tripped. Thankfully some good samaritans stopped to help her. The emergency room determined her elbow was broken and her left hip was badly bruised and strained but it still didn’t answer what was happening with her leg to cause the bowing out and dragging so we went to her orthopedic doctor to have her knee replacement checked and it turns out it is failing and she has a bad infection in it. She will need surgery for a temporary fix on Tuesday, a picc line and 6 weeks of IV antibiotics while she’s off her RA meds. Then she will need surgery again to fully revise the replacement once the infection is gone. We are drowning in expenses due to me needing to be off work without pay to be with her for 2 weeks. She will continue to need copays and prescription meds filled for which she almost always has out of pocket expense.  We need to be able to hire a handyman to build at least one ramp over the stairs coming in and out of the house. We need to be able to take Radar and Sonar to daycare while I am at work once I return so she can continue to recover and do PT without the danger of them causing another fall.  And because we have the absolute best timing Patriot currently needs surgery as well for bladder stones and we just had a pipe burst at the house which needed to be emergently fixed so Mom would have water to keep her bed linens clean and do her nightly scrub downs with Hibiclens as per the surgeon’s instructions for pre-op. I know that literally everyone is struggling in some way or another these days so I understand if you are not able to donate but we would greatly appreciate prayers and shares of this and if you are in a position to donate, God Bless You! We would be eternally grateful! Mom always puts herself last and let this go longer than she should so that we would be financially able to cover all of MY recent medical expenses.
