Subject: Please help Isabel fight against cancer and regain her health and hope
Dear friends, family members, and all kind-hearted friends:
My name is Isabel Garrett. With a mixture of emotions, I am writing this letter of request. For a long time, I have been striving to be a giver rather than a taker, and a person who helps others rather than being helped. But today, my life is facing an unprecedented and huge challenge. I have to put aside my pride and humbly ask for your support.
Not long ago, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. When I heard the word "cancer", my world seemed to freeze instantly. The following days were filled with numerous examinations, biopsies and countless consultations with doctors. The moment of final diagnosis almost overwhelmed me with fear and uncertainty. However, with the support of my family and loved ones, I decided to fight back. I was determined to use all my strength to overcome this disease, for myself and for all those who love me and are loved by me.
My medical team has developed a promising yet challenging treatment plan. This includes surgery, chemotherapy, and possibly radiation therapy in the future. It is a long and difficult process, but it is the path to recovery.
However, this survival path is accompanied by significant economic pressure. Although I have medical insurance, it cannot cover all the expenses. High deductibles, co-payments, and many key but considered "non-essential" or "experimental" treatment items (which are crucial for my condition) all require out-of-pocket payment. Moreover, during the treatment period, I will not be able to work normally, and my income will be significantly reduced, which is precisely the time when huge medical bills need to be paid.
After careful calculation, the total out-of-pocket medical expenses related to the entire treatment process, as well as the income lost due to the treatment and the necessary transportation and nutrition costs, are estimated to amount to between 7,000 and 10,000 US dollars. This figure is quite burdensome for me, and the anxiety it brings is sometimes even more intense than the disease itself.
Precisely because of this, I sincerely ask you to lend a helping hand. Every single donation you make will be directly used for my battle against cancer:
$50 can help cover the transportation cost for a hospital visit or the out-of-pocket expense for a prescription drug.
$100 can cover the out-of-pocket cost for an important blood test or imaging examination.
$500 can significantly alleviate the out-of-pocket expense burden for a single chemotherapy or radiotherapy treatment.
$1,000 or more would be transformative assistance, which could be directly used to cover the out-of-pocket expenses for the surgery or to sustain my basic living expenses during my treatment, allowing me to fully focus on my recovery.
Your support is far more than just financial assistance. It is a gift of hope, courage and strength. Every donation tells me: I am not fighting alone. This collective kindness will give me endless spiritual strength to endure the hardships of treatment and to firmly believe that a bright future lies ahead.
I promise that once I overcome my illness and regain my health, I will use my second life to give back to society. I will do my best to help others who are in the same predicament as me, and pass on this love and kindness that you have shown.
Thank you for reading my story. Thank you for every bit of your love, every prayer and every share. Whether you can provide financial support or not, your concern means the whole world to me.
With deepest gratitude and best wishes from me,
Isabel Garrett
