Hi everyone,

My name is Mackenzie and I am creating this fundraiser to help me receive LASIK eye surgery and finally experience clear vision without the constant dependence on glasses or contacts.

I have relied on corrective lenses for most of my life and while many people wear glasses or contacts it is something that affects nearly every part of my daily routine. From the moment I wake up I have to reach for my glasses just to function. Without them I cannot clearly see faces read signs or safely move through the world. It can feel frustrating limiting and exhausting.

Contacts have not been an easy solution either. I experience dryness irritation and discomfort and I have dealt with infections that make wearing them stressful and sometimes painful. Glasses come with their own issues including breaking fogging slipping and restricting my vision during everyday activities like exercising swimming or driving at night.

LASIK would be genuinely life changing for me. Being able to wake up and see clearly without searching for glasses would give me freedom independence and confidence that I have never had before. It would improve my quality of life in ways that are hard to fully put into words and it would remove a daily barrier that I have lived with for years.

Unfortunately LASIK is considered an elective procedure and is not covered by insurance. The cost is more than I am able to afford on my own which is why I am reaching out for help. Funds raised will go toward the surgery itself along with the required consultations and follow up care.
