Our family is navigating a difficult season as Paul faces growing mobility challenges. He is still able to get around, but it has become increasingly difficult—especially with travel and long medical days. Paul has been referred to specialists in Houston, and these visits may last one to two days, sometimes requiring an overnight stay.
 

While medical coverage helps with portions of care, the biggest burden for our family is the out-of-pocket cost of getting there and staying near the hospital—gas, tolls, parking, hotel nights, meals, and mobility/home-safety equipment that helps Paul stay stable and comfortable day to day. Both of my parents are on a fixed retirement income, and these expenses add up quickly.
