My name is Scott Faxon and I own A-1 Shepherds LLC in Pennsylvania. For years I have rescued German Shepherds from being put down, trained German Shepherds that became police Dogs, service dogs and everyday family dogs. As well as bred some of the highest quality dogs in the world. I have always been good with animals and learned to train dogs as well as behavior modification techniques at a young age. I have volunteered at different rescues thru out my life. I learned at a young age that I had the skills to train and save aggressive or problem dogs that others had given up on. I trained and rescued some great dogs while studying different breeds and what they were bred for. I fell in love with the German Shepherd breed as a whole. I found them to be the best working dogs that I have ever had or trained. I eventually lost some of my best companions. As many others have done. After loosing my best friend, I went out to find another puppy. I realized real fast that the ones on the market were over priced and of poor quality. This was also the main reason that those poor quality pups ended up in shelters. At that time I had a vision. I wanted to breed the highest quality German Shepherds in the world. This would also help reduce poorly bred German Shepherds that were being bred by back yard breeders and ending up in shelters. I wanted to be able to give back to the community by providing police k-9s, service dogs and every day pets while taking the money from breeding and rescuing other dogs from shelters ect. So A-1 Shepherds LLC was created. I have thousands of followers and great support from the community while accomplishing this goal. I looked into all dog laws to make sure that I was lawful to the best that I could understand the laws and even paid taxes every year while giving my dogs the best lives, pet care and just spoiling them rotten. Apparently as our support grew we were getting too big when planning on opening a training facility. Right before Christmas Eve I had several properties in different counties surrounded by men with guns. It was the police and dog wardens. They had search warrants and went thru every paper and corner of every property that I owned including my rental property. I asked what is going on? Their response was that I sold or transfered THREE too many puppies in the year of 2025 without the valid license required for that amount of dogs. This seemed like an over kill. I said you surrounded three properties with men with guns for three healthy puppies? She said yes. In my opinion it definitely could have been handled differently. I disagreed with their numbers and how they were calculating them. I told her that we only breed two to maybe three litters a year depending on the litter size. I was informed that they are counting dogs from last year as hold over pups because they turned 8 weeks old after January first so they count those twice. Once for last year and once for this year regardless if they were even in the state of PA. I was also informed that any rescues that I did or even helping people train their dog or even tenants dogs on properties that I own could count against my numbers to push me up over the allowed dogs per year so that they can say that I was operating a kennel without a license. I asked if there was a complaint or any other issues with any of my dogs. The answer was no. We had a total of six dogs that are well cared for and spoiled on all properties combined. We are not some back yard puppy mill with hundreds of sick dogs and no health testing. So now we are asking the public to donate for the lawyers needed to fight back against this overreaching and aggressive government. I have already filed for the bigger license the next day and am planning on filing an administrative appeal this week. Everything takes money. Especially when the government decides that your next. Anything that you could donate to this cause is appreciated. Hopefully we can continue to be able to rescue dogs as well as provide top quality German Shepherds to the public. I'm hoping that the state does the right thing and approves my kennel license for the increased pups as well as allows extra for room for A-1 Shepherds LLC to grow. Every donation helps. If you can't donate please share so we can at least bring awareness to this issue and hopefully help the State dog warden make the best decision. So many people think that all breeders are bad. We are not all the same. I save dogs from rescues not fill rescues with dogs. There is a difference.
Thanks for reading. Merry Christmas to everyone and God bless you and your families. God is great!
