Latest update as of Dec 16, 2025

  • Surgery update

Dayne and I have been overwhelmed with the amount of love and support over the past couple of weeks and wanted to give a heartfelt thank you to everyone. Over the past couple of weeks Wesley has recovered, and his brain has remained stable enough to move forward with surgery on his heart tomorrow, Dec. 17. This surgery carries with it an increased risk of stroke, but we are hopeful that the heart surgery will go well and that he won’t have another stroke. Hopefully after this we will be able to really get on the road to recovery and bringing our baby home.

About this fundraiser

On November 30th, Savannah Alder went into labor earlier than expected. What should have been a calm, planned delivery turned into an emergency when she was rushed from Logan Regional Hospital and life-flighted to the University of Utah.

Baby Alder entered the world fighting. He was born with Transposition of the Great Arteries, a critical heart condition, and suffered additional complications, including a stroke shortly after delivery. The days since have been filled with monitors, surgeries, specialists, and endless uncertainty. No one can fully prepare for news like this.

What we do know is that this sweet baby boy is incredibly loved. He has shown remarkable strength already, but he will face a long journey of therapy, procedures, and specialized care. Savannah and Dayne have been by his side every moment-heartbroken, hopeful, and doing everything they can for their son. All while juggling their other two children and trying to recover from birth.

If you know them, you know they are the type of people who would never ask for help. They have already endured a year full of medical hardships, and now the financial burden of ongoing treatments, hospital stays, and therapy is overwhelming.

I am creating this Give A Hand because no family should have to face this kind of emotional and financial weight alone. If you are able to help, any amount-no matter how small—-will truly make a difference. Your generosity will allow Savannah and Dayne to focus on their baby without the added stress of mounting bills.

Thank you for your prayers, your kindness, and your support during this unimaginably difficult time. From the bottom of our hearts, we are grateful.

If you would like to Venmo to them directly @Savannah-Alder or @Dayne-Alder
