About this fundraiser

Dear Friends,

I’m writing this at what feels like the lowest point in my life. My name is Tom, and I’m the father of four incredible kids—though like any parent, I’ll admit they can drive me a bit crazy sometimes. Right now, my oldest daughter and I are just a few nights away from losing the last bit of stability we have.

This is incredibly difficult for me to share, and honestly, I’m embarrassed to be in this situation. Life has been relentless this past year. After a brutal divorce, I was left buried in debt and stuck with a spousal support payment that’s more than I earn. Despite applying for over 100 jobs, it wasn’t until May that I finally found work, but it’s a big step down from what I was doing before. My credit has tanked, government assistance has been out of reach, and now, we’re out of money, out of options, and almost out of time.

Since June, my daughter and I have been bouncing from one temporary place to another—hotels, Airbnbs, anywhere we could find shelter. But we’ve reached the end of the line, and if I can’t pull together enough for rent and basic necessities, we’re facing separation in transition homes or worse, being out on the streets. The thought of my daughter—who has been so strong through all of this—having to sleep in a car or on the street is something I can’t bear.

I’ve always tried to handle everything on my own, but I’ve come to the point where I just can’t anymore. That’s why I’m turning to you—people I’ve never even met—for help. We urgently need funds to secure a safe place to live, and any extra support could help me get legal assistance to tackle the overwhelming financial and legal challenges we’re facing. My goal isn’t just to fight for my family but to make sure no one else has to go through what we’re enduring.

Every bit of help counts, whether it’s a donation, sharing our story, or simply keeping us in your thoughts. I know everyone is struggling in one way or another, and I wouldn’t be asking if I had any other options.

Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for any support you can offer.

With deep gratitude and hope,
Thomas
