We are so grateful for the support we’ve received so far—your kindness, messages, and donations have meant the world to us.

Nancy is still at Frontier and has recently been moved to the Riverside wing. While this is a small change, it marks another step forward in her journey. She continues to fight every day, but there’s still a long road ahead before she’ll be able to walk again.

Recovery is slow and challenging, and we’re doing everything we can to make sure she gets the care and therapy she needs. Your continued support—whether by sharing her story, donating, or simply sending encouragement—makes all the difference.

We still have a long way to go to reach our goal, and we truly can’t do it without you.

    With love and gratitude

About this fundraiser

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,

I’m reaching out on behalf of Nancy Mendoza — a loving, resilient woman who is going through an incredibly difficult chapter in her life.

Last year, on what should have been a joyful celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary, Nancy’s husband John passed away after a long and courageous battle with brain cancer. They had moved to Longview to be closer to his doctors in Portland, who did everything they could to prolong his life. Unfortunately, many of the experimental treatments were not covered by insurance, creating a heavy financial burden for Nancy.

More recently, Nancy underwent a total knee replacement — a major surgery that has left her temporarily unable to care for herself or manage day-to-day responsibilities. As she continues to heal physically and grieve emotionally, she’s also facing the added challenge of being separated from her beloved white dog, who has now been boarded for over a month. The cost of boarding, combined with her other expenses, has become overwhelming.

Nancy has always been the kind of person who shows up for others — offering warmth, compassion, and strength to everyone around her. Now she needs our support to help her get back on her feet — both literally and emotionally.

We’re raising funds to help cover:

  • Her dog’s boarding and care
  • Medical and post-surgery recovery costs
  • Basic living expenses during this difficult time

Any contribution — no matter the size — will help relieve some of Nancy’s burden. If you aren’t able to donate, please consider sharing this campaign to help us reach more people who may be able to help.

Let’s rally around Nancy and remind her that she’s not alone.

With gratitude,
