My name is Ashley and I’m a single mom to two , 17 yrs old and 7 yr olds and in a new city away from family. We learned yesterday that the only chance of me being able to maintain mobility is to have a complete knee replacement With a knee cap reconstruction In the leg that already had the kneecap removed 10 years ago with no hardware. that is going to put me in a rehabilitation facility for a few weeks to a month.  
 

2 years ago I had to have an emergency knee replacement on the other leg and wound up homeless living in motels and fighting to make sure basic needs were met because I didn’t have a safety net. 
 

I’m asking for help to maintain my home for my children that I fought so hard to get while I recover from this surgery. As well as protect my children’s emotions and mental health through this because they worry we will lose our home.  I have no savings or backup plan, I am our backup plan.  i do not have time off available at work. I would not be paid for my time-off  I do not have assistance or disability. I want to be able to be there for my children and walk rather than a wheelchair depending on them for the rest of my life.
