About this fundraiser

On January 20th 2026 Jermaine, my partner and the father of our two children, is currently fighting for his life in the Neuro ICU. He suffered both a hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke, which led to acute kidney injury, respiratory failure, and severe brain swelling (cerebral edema). Jermaine has been unresponsive and on life support, with his lungs filling with fluid and new infections complicating his recovery. The doctors are now testing for infectious pneumonia and a bacterial infection from his feeding tube. The swelling in his brain is a major concern, and the neurologists are working tirelessly to stabilize him.

Nineteen days have passed, and Jermaine is still in hospital He has memory loss, remains on a feeding tube, and the medical team is now discussing moving him to a rehabilitation center for the next six months. This has been an incredibly difficult time for our family, both emotionally and financially.

The funds raised will help us cover Jermaine's mounting medical bills, the cost of the rehabilitation center (since insurance will only cover half), and our household bills while he is unable to work. With two children to care for, we are doing everything we can to keep our family stable and hopeful. We are asking for your help and support as we navigate this overwhelming journey. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference for Jermaine and our family. Thank you for standing with us.
