About this fundraiser

Update!! I can sell odds and by the grace of God and prayers Oak is doing really well. Three visits to the emergency vet a blood transfusion from his mom, which was my daughter’s idea when they said they didn’t have any Goat blood for a transfusion. She didn’t take no for an answer and said if I bring the Mom goat to you, can you do a blood transfusion and they said actually yes we can! That was what he needed and he’s not 100% out of the woods !  Original story- My daughter, Kailyn McDonald, has dedicated her life to rescuing animals. At the age of 16 she started working full-time to pay for horses and to start taking in goats that were in need. Many of you over the years, have supported her when she was in Girl Scouts by buying cookies and in the last couple of weeks she has had to spend Her savings on taking her horse and now this goat to the veterinarian. So this is primarily for Oak. Oak is the cutest male goat ever. He’s about half the size of his sister, so he lacked a lot of nutrients and after he was born, he did not look like he was going to make it. We brought him inside and started nursing him every two hours for the last five days and then he developed pneumonia. Last night, we thought we were going to lose him, but he’s a little fighter and this morning he was standing again, but still couldn’t eat or breathe very well. So Kailyn took him to the emergency vet. Her third trip in 10 days  Once for her horse, once for a Goat, we had just taken in named Ed Sheeran who had a parasite apparently before I bought him for my daughter as a gift. And he did not make it. And then a third time for Oak, whose name is for a mighty oak tree. They said that he’s a tough little guy and there’s no promises, but we are now providing oxygen and giving him fluids and also antibiotics in through injections daily (update..4th trip last night to ER for blood transfusion Kailyn brought his mom with for the blood) Both my daughters and myself are giving him around the clock care.  He is the sweetest thing and he loves to wag his tail and walk on his wobbly legs and he only weighs about a pound and a half. It’s hard to tell in the pictures but he is super tiny. They said that he’s strong and there’s a chance he’ll make it. Kailyn’s savings account is primarily for animals medical bills. However, I’ve washed it deplete greatly over the last two weeks because of all three of these animals needing emergency care. It would ease my mind if I could help replenish her medical savings account as it’s dwindling fast. Kailyn will never ever say no to taking in an animal in need so we do have a lot of animals right now. and almost every single one is a rescue. Sadly, I’m not in a position to be able to help her right now myself as I was laid off in December so for those of you who used to support her in Girl Scouts if you have the means, I would love it if you could donate $5.10 dollars whatever it is to replenish her medical savings account. I will keep everyone updated on Oaks progress and continue to keep you updated on the other Rescue efforts that keep us very busy. We currently have over 30 animals on our 6 acre ranch had our completely dedicated to ensuring their health. And if we can’t keep them to find them good homes. We rehomed for large dogs last year to wonderful homes and I want the ability to continue to take in animals that need help in the interim of finding another home if we can’t keep them forever. kalynn is 17 years old and since she was about three years old, she has told me that she wanted a sanctuary one day to rescue animals and no matter what I introduced her to over the years, it never changed. She has a calling to save animals in need and hopefully improve their live lives in many ways on a larger scale throughout the years in the future.  I  understand the times are tough so I just wanted to ask if anyone has anything they can spare it would mean a great deal to us and to Oak and Ed Sheeran and Angel who are the three animals that have been to the emergency vet in the last couple of weeks.
