Hello, a little over a year ago, I had emergency appendectomy surgery. My health insurance did not cover very much and I was left with a $29,000 bill to my local hospital. Fast forward almost one year, and I had to make another visit to the ER, this time for Enteritis. We didn't send it through my insurance, and the hospital cut the bill in half, but they have since changed how they bill ER services, so now a third party billing company wants their money right now, too, and I just don't have it. So, my hospital bill is now $31,000 and the ER bill is about $1000. I've been making payments as much as I can each month. It is really hard to ask for help when there are so many others out there who need help worse than me, but I don't know what else to do. I do not want to file bankruptcy, and I do not qualify for their hospital assistance. If you can find it in your hearts to help me clear up these medical bills, I will be forever grateful! I thank God everyday for giving me life. He guided the surgeons and ER doctors to the right prognosis, and I am still here. I work a full time job for a non profit organization and my loving husband is retired. My salary and my husbands social security is all the regular income we have.
