Jason's family has recently received devastating news. What began as what was thought to be a stroke, turned out to be the most breath taking news for their patriarch. It was discovered to be an autoimmune disease called Transverse Myelitis (TM). This is a disease that affects his Central Nervous System. There is an abundance of inflammation on his spinal cord that has caused paralysis on his entire left side and about 75% on his right side. He has already been treated at the hospital for a week for this and now he's on to the next medical facility where he'll stay for about a month. 

After several tests and procedures to get this diagnosis and treatment plan, it is now time to face this monster of a disease that no one expected and definitely does not want to face. This unknown disease is in the same family as Multiple Sclerosis. There are also so many unknown battles that are now awaited for him and his family medically, emotionally, and of course financially.

Before Jason can return to his home with his wife and kids with his youngest being just 6 years old, he'll have to spend a month in a rehabilitation center to learn the basic self-care tasks and routines again such as getting out of bed, walking in general, brushing his teeth, washing his face, or just being able to lift his arm. Besides the emotional rollercoaster this has and will be bringing, it is anticipated that due to this recent diagnosis, Jason will be traveling to many doctor's appointments once leaving the rehabilitation center. This means that he will be limited in his ability to work. As a matter of fact, his doctors told him NOT to worry about working for the next 6-8 months because his Central Nervous System has to be reprogrammed to connect with his body again. 

TM is not something that someone plans for nor is it something that comes easy. This diagnosis will result in many expenses as he receives care. Therefore, we come to you and ask and plead that you help ease some of his burden by making a monetary contribution. We have the opportunity to make this dark moment just a slightly bit less difficult for Jason and his family. Any funds collected will be used for accrued medical expenses, lodging, food, and perhaps any areas that are of stress to the family. Any donation is appreciated.
