  • CAR-T Extraction & Next Treatment

Jeremy went back to the hematologist’s office 12/11/25 to plan and prepare for his T-Cell extraction. This is a pretty complicated process. The extraction is mostly a pain free experience, but involves some complex medical work that does feel a bit scary. We’ll be in Dallas from 12/17/25 to 12/20/25.

We’re having to hire a dog sitter and house sitter because there isn’t really anyone that can do both for us while we’re out. We’ve also got a hotel stay each of those nights and lots of uber-ing from hotel to hospital and even from building to building at the hospital (UTSW is HUGE!)

Big shout out to Jeremy's sister, Jen, for driving us to Dallas and Whitney's sister, Jenna, who will be getting us home when its time.

12/17/25 we meet with the doc to go over the procedure and discuss the next steps as well as some testing
12/18/25 Jeremy will have cell extraction that lasts 2-3 hours
12/19/25 An all day chemo will take place
12/20/25 We’ll come home and begin the recovery and healing so that *hopefully* he can have CAR-T during the first full week of January

About this fundraiser

Our family is rallying around someone incredibly special: Jeremy — a kind, talented, endlessly giving man who has spent his life showing up for others. Now, as he begins an intense treatment journey for an aggressive form of DLBC lymphoma, we’re asking for help so we can keep showing up for him.

This is Jeremy’s second battle with lymphoma. From July 2024 through December 2024, he fought and beat what was believed to be a milder form of the disease. In October 2025, the cancer returned — this time more aggressive — and requiring a much more intensive course of treatment. Despite the shock and exhaustion of facing this again, Jeremy has met it with the same quiet strength, determination, and humor that define who he is.

Jeremy is currently preparing for 3-6 rounds of Pola-R-GemOx chemotherapy, followed by having his T-cells harvested for CAR-T cellular therapy — a life-saving treatment that offers real hope for full recovery. His doctors are optimistic, and we are, too. But the road to that recovery is long, physically demanding, and requires extensive care both inpatient and outpatient.

Because this specialized treatment is only available far from home, we’re facing significant travel and lodging needs. Jeremy will have periods where he must stay in isolation near the hospital in Dallas, and caregivers will need to travel with him for frequent appointments, hospitalizations, and procedures. On top of that, he needs medical supplies at home, help with yard care he can no longer do, and support while we wait for disability assistance. All of this comes during a time when neither of us can work our usual schedules.

If you know Jeremy, you know how hard this is for him — not the treatments themselves, but the reality of needing help. He has always been the one who fixes things, builds things, and makes life easier for others. He’s a devoted husband, loving stepdad, the king of dad jokes, a gifted woodworker, and a musician with a rich history of playing with talented (and well-known) bands (if you haven't heard his stories about opening for David Allan Coe or The Marshall Tucker Band - ask him!). His hope has always been to get back on stage again, but being immunocompromised has kept him home since moving to Wichita Falls in 2024.

We’re determined to get him well, keep him supported, and maintain our home and life during this long treatment period. The prognosis with proper care is good — we just need help bridging the gap so Jeremy can focus entirely on healing.

Every donation, share, or kind word truly matters. Thank you for helping us give Jeremy the support, stability, and strength he needs during this chapter of his recovery.
