My wife and I had just started packing for our next move, our third since the pandemic, when I got back pain. I thought it was from lifting boxes, but I had a familiar feeling that told me "kidney stone". I went to the Emergency Room and found out it was five kidney stones! I didn't know that sort of thing happened. . Four regular stones and one called a Staghorn, because it looks like tiny antlers.
The pain was almost unbearable, dropping me to my knees a few times, but at least I was prescribed some painkillers. That's when I started to find out what Medicare and Medicaid doesn't cover. Like x-rays for example.
My wife has diabetes and her health is irregular but at least her healthcare is covered by Medicaid.
We are in a bad spot right now, barely able to make this move that has to be done because for the 3rd time since the pandemic, the house we are renting is being sold from under us. At times I really feel we may be homeless.
I am 68 and grateful I can still get paid a little as a musician and I love my work. Please give what you can. Thank you.
