Please join me in helping Heidi pay for her cancer treatments and other expenses during this very challenging time. Heidi has worked tirelessly over the last several years to find her purpose without being defined by her past. After continuing her education and transitioning to a career in counseling for substance abuse and homelessness, she found her purpose working at a non-profit organization, being able to make a difference in people who struggle to get the help they deserve. Her path allows her to advocate and even be the keynote speaker at conventions, where she can offer her own success story to those desperately searching for a helping hand. After a routine colonoscopy in November, she received the diagnosis that no one wants to get, and that is Stage 3 Colorectal Cancer. Due to a large tumor, she had already endured weeks of radiation and now 6  months of aggressive chemotherapy. As her symptoms are worsening and weekly copays and other medical expenses are adding up, the stress is starting to make this already scary situation even worse. Heidi is fighting and still working even with intense nausea and crippling Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy. No one should have to stress about finances when they are going through medical treatments to survive. Heidi has insurance, but she could use the support because there are specialist copays and tests that are not fully covered, along with her regular living expenses and bills. I have known Heidi for 35 years and can honestly say I have never seen such an effort to transition into a selfless and empathetic person that I am proud to call my friend and family. Any amount helps, and I am sharing this every day. Heidi has a ticket to my graduation on May 23, 2025. Please help me make that possible so she is healthy enough to watch me make her proud.
