  • Update 1

Hello yall I just wanted to update a give more info about why I need a service dog. The service dog would be trained for multiple problems. Of course they would be trained for cardiac alert, also I have started having balancing problems. So they would be trained to help with mobility. And finally I do not like to speak about this really but yall deserve to know, after all of my years working as an EMT in EMS, things have reached it's peak. I suffer from anxiety, slight panic attacks, and absolutely horrible vivid night terrors. Thank you to everyone who donates or prays for me!! God bless yall!!! Thank yall again!!

About this fundraiser

Hello my name is Jessica. I'm an EMT and I did work in EMS for 20 years. It is my passion to help others. Unfortunately I no longer can work and help my community. I unfortunately am now in need of help myself. I have been diagnosed with POTS, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome. If I get up or down to quickly I pass out. Also I can be standing and not realize that my heart rate is climbing and my blood pressure is dropping. When this happens I pass out. I also recently had a total disc replacement in my lower spin. So passing out just keeps my back in pain. I can't even begin to tell you how many times I have passed out and injured myself. In order to keep from passing out and injuring myself, I need a cardiac alert service dog but I also need a service dog for other medical conditions. Unfortunately service dogs are extremely expensive!!! And most want the money before they will put you on the waitlist. Unfortunately my husband and I can't afford to pay the fee. My husband has been putting aside for our nest egg to care for the dog.We have 3 children, a 13yo girl, 12yo boy, and a 10yo girl. Things have been difficult for me since I can't work anymore, it sucks when you can't work doing something you're passionate about. Once you get on the service dog wait list depending on the tasks you need your service dog to perform it can take up to 3 years to get your service dog. There is NO cure for any of my medical conditions. All the Dr's can do is treat the symptoms. I continue to suffer POTS episodes. If I'm able to get a service dog then there is a possibility that I may be able to work again and absolutely get my life back. Without a dog there is ABSOLUTELY no chance of working or getting my life back. Having this condition has isolated me. I don't have/or want any social media. All of my friends have basically moved on. I have about 4 people that I speak to because they understand that I do NOT like to go anywhere because I'm afraid I will have an episode and injure myself in public. I don't want to alarm or scare people. So this condition affects me medically and mentally. If I am ever able to have a service dog I wouldn't be so afraid to leave the house. So not only would a service dog help me to keep from injuring myself, but the dog would help me mentally. I wouldn't be so afraid of leaving my home. I know that I am asking a lot from people who don't know me whatsoever. I'm asking that the community possibly help me in my time of need. I understand if you can't donate anything, but I ask if you could keep me in your prayers. Maybe by the grace of God I can get a service dog. Thank yall for reading my story. Also thank you for any donations and prayers! Again thank you and God bless!
